Kinsland Family Scholarship

The Kinsland Family Scholarship was established for the purpose of providing funds to a graduate of Haywood County Consolidated Schools. The scholarship was created by the late Johnnie Adeline Kinsland. Johnnie believed that this scholarship would enhance and improve education opportunities for public school students. Her preference was to help students who exhibit integrity, character and other positive personality traits. This is a renewable scholarship for $1,000/year; total $4,000.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
– Senior in a Haywood County High School
– Attended Tuscola, Pisgah, Central Haywood or Haywood Early College for at least three years immediately prior to graduation
– Student must be planning to attend an approved secondary program (technical/community college, junior college, four-year institution)
– Financial Need
– GPA of 2.5

SELECTION PROCESS AND AWARDS
A selection committee will make a recommendation for the recipient of the scholarship. The selection process shall consist of a review and evaluation of the scholarship applications. The Board of Directors of the Foundation will make the final decision on the recipient of this scholarship. The Board’s decision shall be final. The Haywood County Schools Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt charitable foundation, will administer the scholarship fund.

PAYMENT OF AWARDS
Payments of scholarship awards will be made at the beginning of the school year or at the beginning of each semester. Checks will be made payable to the school for students account and will be forwarded to the financial aid office.
