Sonoma Masonic Lodge #472 has established a scholarship fund with the Haywood County Schools Foundation, Inc. utilizing contributions by Masonic Lodge Members. The Fund principal is to remain invested and only a portion of the earnings will be used for the scholarships. One or more scholarships will be awarded each scholastic year to provide financial support to eligible and deserving students. *As the fund grows, Sonoma Masonic Lodge #472 may elect to extend the scholarship awards to include other colleges.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Lives in the Bethel School District & attended Bethel Middle School
• Graduated from Pisgah High School or Central Haywood High School
• Financial Need
• Scholastic Achievement
• Enrolled or accepted for enrollment in Haywood Community College
• Participation in extracurricular activities & community service
• Scholastic Achievement
• A personal interview may be required
• Recipients may reapply in succeeding years
PROCESS
A committee, appointed by Sonoma Masonic Lodge No. 472, will make a recommendation for the recipient of the scholarship. The selection process shall consist of a review and evaluation of the scholarship application and possibly a personal interview. The Board of Directors of the Foundation will make the final decision on the recipient of this scholarship. The Board’s decision shall be final. The Haywood County Schools Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt charitable foundation, will administer the scholarship fund.
PAYMENT OF AWARDS
Payment of scholarship awards will be made at the beginning of the school year or at the beginning of each semester. Cannot receive FULL scholarship from any other source in order to receive the scholarship. The Sonoma Masonic Lodge No. 472 reserves the right to revoke the scholarship if the guidelines are not met.
