The Vanhook Law Firm Scholarship Fund has been established by Danya Ledford Vahook, Esq. to honor her commitment to Haywood County. Danya owns her own law firm practicing in child welfare for over 20 years. Danya is involved in many community and civic organization and works hard to give back to the community she loves. The Fund will be administered by the Haywood County Schools Foundation and is a one – time scholarship for $750.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Graduating High School Senior from Haywood County Schools
• Financial Need
• Participation in extracurricular activities
• 3.3 GPA minimum
• Preference given to students attending UNC-Chapel Hill

SELECTION PROCESS

The Vanhook Law Firm Scholarship committee will make a recommendation for the recipient. The selection process shall consist of a review and evaluation of the scholarship application, and possibly a personal interview. The Board of Directors of the Foundation will make the final decision on the recipient of this scholarship. The Board’s decision shall be final. The Haywood County Schools Foundation, Inc., a tax-exempt charitable foundation, will administer the scholarship fund.
